WHO WE ARE
We are allied health professionals with many years experience in musculoskeletal and movement related complaints.
When you present with your complaint, it is of course important to find out exactly what the problem is (the diagnosis). However, to resolve the problem properly, it is just as important to find out why it occurred (the aetiology). Sometimes the aetiology may seem obvious; sometimes it is not.
To fix a problem for the long term we must have a clear idea of its history, and what caused it so that we can create an effective treatment and rehabilitation program that addresses your pain but then also corrects underlying biomechanical problems and rewires your patterns of movement to prevent the problem reoccurring.
WHAT WE DO
As osteopaths, we have a sophisticated understanding of spinal mechanics with unique methods in diagnosing and treating spinal and other musculoskeletal pain conditions.
Our practice is very rare, in that with most of the complaints we see, we measure balance in natural stance with force plate technology. We use a research grade clinical tool called computerisedposturography. Computerisedposturography, enables us to see minute changes in postural function and to objectively measure the efficiency of the reflexes in your postural system. We also typically measure reaction times, coordination and muscle strength as well. This means that we are able to prescribe and implement highly specific treatment and rehabilitation programs, as well as get immediate objective measurement of how effective our treatment program is, and quantify how much you are improving.
OUR TEAM
Our team comprises of two osteopaths, an exercise physiologist and a soft tissue therapist. We also have a dentist with a special interest in bite and jaw complaints who consults for us on an ad-hoc basis. This enables us to provide you with a truly comprehensive and holistic experience.
